The hunters' and dogs' dinner is ending at sunset on the rocks of Vaitahua Bay on Eiao island in the Marquesas archipelago. Once all the meat has been prepared and packaged for transportation, they will leave the island - formerly a center for the manufacture of lithic objects - and sail back for the 56 nautical miles that separate them from Nuku Hiva.
