A discreet tribute is paid to Yves-Marie Froidevaux in a crypt of the church of Notre-Dame-Sous-Terre. This great specialist in medieval architecture and chief curator of Monuments Historiques directed various restoration works on Mont-Saint-Michel, with a high quality of research, from 1957 to 1983. He is credited with the resurrection of Notre-Dame-Sous-Terre, the chapel built at the beginning of the 10th century by Benedictine monks. It is located on the site of the original sanctuary founded by Aubert in 708.
