Access reserved to freeriders in winter

In winter, when the peaks of the Sancy massif are covered in snow, only freeride skiers are allowed access. In summer however, hikers can freely use the marked trails along the ridges. From the Capucin volcano to the Puy de Cliergue, the Sancy ridges offer exceptional panoramic views of the Dordogne valley, the spa town of Le Mont-Dore and the summer pastures favoured by Salers or Charolaise cows.
