Large-flowered jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum) is a species of the genus Jasminum of the Oleaceae family which has been the subject of specific cultivation in the town of Grasse since the mid-17th century for its use in perfumery. Its flowers in the shape of a white star are grouped by two to nine in axillary or terminal cymes. Each flower consists of a corolla made up of five 0.5 to 0.8 inches (13 to 22 mm) oblong petals. The large-flowered jasmine's particularly fragrant flowering extends from May to September in the Grasse region.
