The 420 feet (128 m) long Saint-Nicolas bridge of Joigny connects the city's hospital center to its covered market. Today it has eight arches with different bends and unequal widths. These 19.6 feet (6.08 m) wide for the narrowest at the edge of the quay to 43.3 feet (13.20 m) for the widest in the center of the bridge arches allow for the largest of them the passage of tourist boats and the discovery of the city from the Yonne river.
