Its canyon-like quarries, succession of fairy chimneys, and valleys with astonishing contours make Provençal Colorado the most spectacular ocher site in Luberon. Beyond the human footprint left by the ocher exploitation, the Doa, a small stream swollen by rainwaters and flowing from Gignac to Apt, has notched the geological layers by carrying water rich in ochres.
