Reindeers' hooves are large and flat. Their conformation varies seasonally to adapt to the landscape’s variations crossed all year long by these animals, as frozen lakes, melted snow, soft ground. During autumn and winter, the hooves harden and develop sharp edges which are useful for breaking through snow and ice and find food.
