Rue de la Poste is the main shopping street in the village of Clécy in the Calvados department. To attract new businesses, the municipality has recently embarked on a project to develop the commercial spaces and dress up the facades. Like what was done for the butcher's shop visible on the left of this photo, some storefronts were repainted in red or bright blue to bring color to the stone and improve the aesthetic quality of the communal buildings. The rural village of Clécy, considered the capital of Norman Switzerland, had 1,305 inhabitants in 2019.
