On the Breton side of Mont-Saint-Michel Bay, no more than five farmers work with the famous black-headed sheep across a thousand hectares of salt meadows. In winter, the flock of Yannick and Alexandre Frain spends the day in the pastures and returns to the sheepfold in the evening. As grass is less nutritious in winter, their nutrition is supplemented with cereals and hay cultivated on his farm. In summer, the herd returns to the sheepfold only once every two weeks.
