Elephants feed constantly
0
0
Elephants feed constantly, day and night. An adult male may eat about 660 lbs (300 kg) of food a day. Their digestive system quickly absorbs the most digestive material, but more than 50% of what they eat is excreted, essentially fibrous contents. This rapid digestion allows them to eat continuously and ensures a permanent and essential flow of nutrients.
