The century-old fountain in the background, the perfume still in the foreground, and the plants in the gardens of the Fontaines Parfumées estate in Grasse are the emblematic elements essential to the traditional manufacture of perfumes. It is the vapor of the fountains' water brought to the boil which, passing through the still filled with fragrant plants, loads with aromas and gives the essential oils. Abandoned in the 1970s, the Fontaines Parfumées were purchased by the LVMH group in 2012 and renovated.
