Egyptian geese usually pair for life. During the nesting period, the nest is located on the ground in the bushes, in natural tree cavities or cliffs, close to water. The Egyptian goose can sometime use old raptor’s or heron’s nest. The female builds the nest with twigs and leaves that she stuffs down. She lays six to twelve eggs, the incubation lasts between 28 and 30 days. Chicks are able leave the nest and to follow their mother only a few hours after hatching, and will be totally independent after 10 weeks.
