The favorite places of Egyptian geese are freshwater lakes and rivers on the banks of which they spend most of their time grooming and feeding, mostly in couple or family group. The female lays up to a dozen eggs that hatch after a incubation period of about one month. The hatchlings are nidifugous and stay with their parents about 10 weeks before they become independent.
