Churches and chapels of Corsica
1
0
The number of chapels and churches built in Corsica over the various religious influences is difficult to quantify. In the 60s, about 400 Romanesque chapels were identified but 1075 would have existed at the same time. Many churches are characterized by a square base bell tower with several perforated levels, a primitive roof of 'teghje' (Corsican lauze) and a triangular or curvilinear pediment very popular in northern Italy.
