Sainte Marguerite protestant church

The current Protestant temple of Riquewihr was built on the remains of the Gothic parish church of Sainte-Marguerite from the 12th and 15th centuries. After the Reformation, by the Dukes of Württemberg in 1534, the parish church was reserved for Protestant worship, then shared with Catholics from 1687. In 1846, it was destroyed and replaced by the current neoclassical church. It was designed by architects Jean-François Giroy and François Louis Laubser, who also restored the Catholic Church outside the city's fortified wall.
