Now the parish church of Hautvillers, St. Sindulphe belonged to the Benedictine abbey of the village. Inside the church lies the tombstone of the monk who made the lasting glory and fame of the Champagne region: Dom Pierre Pérignon (1639-1715). The church is owned by the commune and houses a rich heritage of furniture, including paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries. Destroyed and rebuilt several times, the nave of the church dates from the 16th century and has a basket-handle ceiling.
