L'église monolithe de Saint-Émilion est une ancienne église du XIe siècle entièrement creusée dans la roche. Elle est la plus vaste église souterraine d'Europe.
L'église est située dans le centre historique de Saint-Émilion, en Gironde, sous la place des Créneaux et la place du Clocher. Elle est essentiellement souterraine, creusée dans un flanc de colline. Sa construction a nécessité l'extraction de près de 15 000 m3 de roche. [source Wikipedia]
