The Saint-Pierre Baptist Church of Nathalo on Lifou in the Loyalty Islands rises in the center of the island's only Catholic village, illustrating the great religious diversity of an island on which many cults continue to coexist. Built in 1883 by Father Reverend Rosier, it is flanked by two square bell towers with pointed roofs and decorated with interior paintings representing scenes from the life of Jesus.
