Cusuco National Park ecosystem

0
A hotspot of the Mesoamerican biodiversity, Cusuco National Park presents a great diversity of environments and habitats due to its wide ranged altitude, from sea level to 7,956ft (2,425m). In its highest central part, it is crossed by mountain streams. Several globally endangered amphibian species have taken up residence in this particular ecosystem, however threatened by the change in its land cover following the conversion of forests into coffee plantations and the intensification of population and infrastructures.
