Dunes and marshes of great biodiversity
0
0
At the tip of Cabourg are the estuary and the marshes of the Dives. They were drained in the 19th century by the monks of the Abbey of Troarn so that horses, cows, and sheep could graze. The area is also home to large waders, gray herons, and birds of prey and constitutes a sanctuary for nearly 150 storks who stop there in March during their migration to Spain. The dunes shelter great biodiversity and are located in the extension of the Promenade Marcel Proust in Cabourg.
