Moisturising and softening soap

At the Domaine d’Esthine, once the donkey’s milk has been collected, the next step is to heat the mixture of milk, vegetable oils, and essential oils. When the mixture reaches 104°F (40°C), caustic soda is added and the mixture is mixed. Then the cold saponification in moulds begins (photo), followed by the cutting of the soaps and a 6-week period in which it is dried in the dark. Rich in vitamins and micronutrients, donkey’s milk is a natural skin tightenor. Its softening and restructuring properties act effectively on weakened skins.
