The extension of the Unterlinden Museum in Colmar, undertaken in 2012, also led to the restoration of the chapel and the conventual buildings, two parts of the museum that are protected as historical monuments. The north façade of the former Dominican convent, with Gothic-style ogival openings from the 13th century, has been the museum’s main entrance since December 2015. A reconfiguration desired by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, who oversaw the entire redevelopment of the Unterlinden Museum.
