Drying of pandanus leaves
1
0
Pandanus is present on all the islands of French Polynesia, even on the poorest atolls where it spreads easily through the buds of its lower leaves or floating fruits. The leaves used for braiding are those of the thornless varieties which have been introduced and are now cultivated. In Rimatara, the precious fibers of pandanus dry along the road or hang on the walls of the houses.
