Draperies are calcite concretions in the form of fine, sometimes translucent veils. They are commonly found on the inclined walls of cavities that allow the water not to fall directly on the ground but to slide along the rough vault of the gallery. Their alternating and cyclic coloration in brown, red, ocher corresponds to the successive growth layers.
