Dole, at the heart of a transport network

Dole and the team of Comtois horses which collects the dry garbage cans of the city center seem, in this photo, to have escaped time. This sub-prefecture of Jura is however only 2h15 by TGV from Paris and 4.3 miles (7 km) from the regional airport of Dole-Jura. It marks the starting point of a dense network of departmental roads as well as a motorway junction (A36 and A39). The city nicknamed the 'Little Venice of Jura' is also bordered by a section of the Rhône-Rhine Canal and by the Doubs.
