Bordered by a promenade along the Persian Gulf, West Bay encompasses the eastern coastal districts of Doha (Qatar), namely Al Qassar, Al Dafna, Leqtaifiya (West Bay Lagoon), Onaiza and Hazm Al Markhiya. West Bay starts at the end of the Corniche and extends to the Katara Cultural Village. There are many modern buildings and some of Qatar’s tallest and most iconic skyscrapers such as the Burj Doha and the Tornado Tower. West Bay is the characteristic skyline of the Qatari capital. In this business district – also known as the Business Diplomatic District – headquarters and ministries stand alongside shops, restaurants, and luxury hotels – such as the pyramid-shaped Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel visible in the foreground.
