The glacial cirques of "lac Noir" and "lac Blanc" are part of the Two Lakes Biological Reserve. They constitute a rich set from a fauna and flora point of view. In between, the land forest of the two lakes covers 1,375 acres (637 ha) and is home to creeping pines and spruce trees. The Office for Water and Forests has noted a tendency towards monospecific coniferous forests. Considering that it favors the forest-preys imbalance, it is taking action to diversify these woodlands again.
