Vertical arrangement of ochres
0
0
The distribution of ochres follows a precise vertical arrangement corresponding to a lateritic alteration profile. At the base of the geological structure are the mother marine and glauconous rocks known as green rocks, then come the various colored layers of ocher sands. They are themselves topped by tropical soils made up of white kaolinitic sands, while siliceous and ferruginous cuirasses appear at the top of the structure.
