Discovery of a new species

A new species of lizard has been discovered in Peru (South America). Its scientific name: Proctoporus titans. It is the largest of its kind. The lizard measures only about ten centimeters, but its congeners do not exceed seven centimeters. Proctoporus titans has brown scales and orange eyes. It lives in the Puna region (western Peru), on plateaus located at 3,241 meters above sea level.
