From the gigantic tree fern (Cyathea intermedia) whose buds are consumed as contraceptives to the tiny blue flowers of the meamoru (Plectranthus Parviflorus) which grow on the ground and treat eye diseases, many plants of traditional medicine are currently studied for scientific research.
