The International Association of Friends of the Museum (AIAM) was created in 1998 to bring together car amateurs and enthusiasts in an organized structure. Its members restore vintage cars for the Cité de l'Automobile and participate in numerous events on its motor-racing track. Their president, Hubert Haberbusch, takes part in all the prestigious restorations of the collection. He recently revived the world's only Type 28 Bugatti from 1921. Hubert Haberbusch is a recognized Maitre d'art (Master of Arts), and his restoration company is listed as an Entreprise du patrimoine vivant (Living heritage company). He also endeavors to pass on his know-how to the Compagnons du Devoir.
