The beauty of coral reefs arises from the diversity of corals. There are 5 main types of corals : the soft corals very present in the Polynesian reefs, the black coral of greatest depths, the red coral appreciated in jewelry, the blue coral with its iron salts impregnated fibrils and the very urticating fire coral which goes through a jellyfish phase during breeding.
