The Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace (Air and Space Museum) has a large collection of aerobatic aircraft such as the Dewoitine 530 no6. This unique aircraft, perfectly restored by the museum teams, has been returned to its 1950s condition. Before the Second World War, aerobatic pilots used to attend air shows with the aircraft of the manufacturer they worked for. As chief test pilot at Dewoitine, Marcel Doret developed all the aircraft manufacturer’s prototypes and finalised many technical advances. He was the first to codify aerobatic figures. With him, the pilot’s virtuosity and technical mastery replaced boldness and daring.
