The western shores of Madine Lake were assessed in 2007 by Natura 2000 and the National Office for Hunting and Wild Fauna to measure the vegetation belt of its waters. They noticed a propensity to the growth of reed beds, which constitute an ideal biotope for the lake's avifauna. Species, until then uncommon, such as the flowering rush, the swamp bulrush, or the arrowhead sagittarius, are now present in large numbers on its shores.
