The altitude, snow cover or wind mark the aerial architecture of certain tree species, such as here the common spruce (Picea abies). Fixed all their life in the same place, plants depend more closely on their environment than animals, which can move to more favorable habitats. Their development is thus deeply influenced by a set of external factors of a climatic (temperature, light, precipitation, hygrometry, etc.), edaphic (pH, humus, soil water content) or even biotic (competition, parasitism, etc.) nature.
