In front of the gates of Saint-Aubin lock

The boats arriving in front of the Saint-Aubin lock must wait for the opening of the gates installed at both ends of the lock. The doors of the different locks are operated by various systems (hydraulic, electric or manual) controlled by a lock keeper from 'Voies Navigables de France'. The lock keepers are warned of the arrival of the boats by the boaters themselves who call them on a dedicated communication channel with their marine VHF radio.
