Rally cars are in the spotlight at the Cité de l’Automobile-Collection Schlumpf (City of Automobile-Schlumpf Collection) in Mulhouse. The Ford RS200 (right) – with four-wheel drive and mid-engine – was produced between 1984 and 1986. It was not as successful as expected and its best result in the World Rally Championship was a third place in the 1986 Rally Sweden. On the left, the Renault 5 GT Turbo of the Diac-Simon Racing team, winner of the 21st Rallye de Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast Rally) in 1989. Founder in 1966 of Simon Racing, Edmond Simon was one of the great preparers of cars for rally races in France and around the world.
