Two churches in one

Saint Stephen Cathedral in Metz is actually a merging of two churches. The cathedral itself spreads along an east-west axis, and Notre-Dame-La-Ronde is perpendicular to it. The two buildings were reunited in 1260. Notre-Dame-La-Ronde had two entrances, and its south door was kept for the cathedral, which did not include a portal back then. It was decorated with a rich collection of sculptures at the end of the 13th century.
