Le marbre blanc est extrait du Rajasthan, le jaspe vient du Pendjab, la turquoise et la malachite du Tibet, le lapis-lazuli du Sri Lanka, le corail de la mer Rouge, la cornaline de Perse et du Yémen, l'onyx du Deccan et de Perse, les grenats du Gange et du Bundelkund, l'agate du Yémen et de Jaisalmer, le cristal de roche de l'Himalaya. En tout, vingt-huit types de pierres fines ont été utilisés pour composer les motifs de cette marqueterie de pierre !
