Numerous tiled stoves heated the many adjoining rooms of the apartments in the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle. Most of them were reconstructed at the beginning of the 20th century with the tiles found in the ruin. They are all adorned with medieval decorations such as knights, fantastic animals, floral decorations, or battle scenes. From deep green to bright yellow, they unroll their tiered pyramids. The tradition of manufacturing these stoves, or Kokelhofs, carries on today in Alsace and Germany.
