In the 1950s, the GHM (Générale d’Hydraulique et de Mécanique) foundry in Sommevoire (Haute-Marne) launched itself into urban lighting and diversified its products. At the beginning of the 1970s, it applied its craftsmanship to the development of urban furniture. GHM did not hesitate to call on highly original designers and famous urban planners such as Jean-Michel Wilmotte. But it also continues the production of timeless models (Wallace fountains, Guimard kiosks). The foundry is listed as a ‘Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant’ (Living Heritage Company).
