Opening up the Cézy area

Construction of the suspended bridge of Cézy began on the Cézy side and on the Saint-Aubin bank of the Yonne in 1845. It was inaugurated in 1846 and opened up the village of Cézy, where only a ferry allowed the crossing of the river before its arrival. Nowadays, more than 800 cars a day use this axis that connects the Vrin valley to Joigny on the right bank. Renovation work is planned as corrosion is spreading to the cables and puts the stability of the bridge at risk.
