Vines facing the Mediterranean
0
0
The vineyards of Côtes-de-Provence La Londe spread where the Maures Massif advances like a mountain of schist into the Mediterranean Sea, between the rocks of the peninsula of Giens and those of the Fort de Brégançon. Planted facing the sea, the Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Tibouren, and Syrah grape varieties benefit from a mild and dry climate. They experience around 3,000 hours of strong sunshine per year and an almost permanent sea breeze. The vineyards represent 19.5% of the municipality of La Londe-les-Maures alone, with 3,862 acres (1,563 ha).
