Indispensable vibrissae

Due to the location of its eyes and the shape of its head, the Comtois horse, like its congeners, cannot see what is at the end of its nose. Its upper and lower lips, like its eyes and nostrils, are therefore equipped with long tactile hairs - called vibrissae - clearly visible in this photo. These vibrissae are essential for it to find its way in space.
