In the 1920s, the Wingen-sur-Moder factory developed at a steady pace. René Lalique hired specialised workers, glassmakers, cutters and engravers. From about 50, the number of employees peaked at 300 on the eve of the Second World War. His factory had all the modern resources: the pressed glass technique was used for massive pieces, and compressed air blowing became widespread. Mass-produced, his creations always preserved their aesthetic and technical qualities. Like in this Tourbillons vase, in colourless crystal with black enamel, created in 1926 by René Lalique and still in circulation today.
