Woven shiny stainless steel sheets

The Philharmonie de Paris, inaugurated in 2015, was designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel. Located along the ring road, the building covered in aluminium sheets reflects the sun’s rays and shines with a thousand lights. In the centre of the sometimes angular, sometimes curved facade, the assembly of shiny stainless steel sheets – from a distance it looks like a snake coiled around itself – was developed by the Bureau HDA. The 75,347 sq. ft. (7,000 m²) area corresponds inside the building to the foyers of the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez. The stainless steel scales (Uginox Bright appearance) are 1.5 mm thick and their low roughness limits pollution residues.
