Vine strengthening techniques

For about fifteen years, deep tillage has been carried out in the vineyards of Château Malherbe in Bormes-les-Mimosas. This practice eliminates the grass that competes with the vine and interferes with its proper development. It does so in a more environmentally friendly way than herbicides, which also kill microorganisms and soil life. The tillage improves the aeration of the soil, its physical structure, and the penetration of water. It also promotes the biological activity of the ground and alimentation of the vines, which it also forces to root more deeply.
