In Camargues races, right-handed raseteurs hold their hook in their right hand and perform rasets on the right side. The athlete, therefore, approaches the bull facing him from its left side. The logic is reversed for left-handed raseteurs. For obvious reasons linked to the proportion of left-handed people in the world population, the majority of raseteurs are right-handed. Nothing in the regulations of Camargue races prevents a right-handed or left-handed raseteur from achieving a raset on his non-advantageous side if the opportunity arises.
