Mist over ancient roads

The degraded oceanic climate which reigns in the plain of Alsace is favorable to the vines. In spring and winter, it often generates mist that covers the valleys. Wedged between the Vosges and the Black Forest, the wide plain is crossed by small roads, some from the Celtic and Roman times. A Roman landmark, below the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle, stands at the exit of the village of Orschwiller.
