After eight months of closure in 2014, the Hotêl Plaza Athénée had a discreet facelift destined to make it soberer. The decorator Bruno Moinard was entrusted with a gentle renovation of the common areas, the lobby, the large gallery, and the garden courtyards. Platinum chandeliers replaced the former golden ones, and carpets and rugs were changed for less garish tones like brown and cognac. The six entrance columns were decorated with orchids and foliage.
